Second Arrest in Stabbing Incident
A Galesburg man injured in a stabbing incident early Tuesday morning has been arrested.

Galesburg Police say 45-year old Jerry Thompson was arrested around noon Wednesday, initially on charges that included Aggravated Domestic Battery. But Knox County Circuit Court records indicate only a misdemeanor charge of Domestic Battery was filed.

Police say Thompson and 30-year old Christina Ahearn got into an altercation sometime before 1:45 am Tuesday at Ahearn's Indiana Avenue residence. Thompson was found at his Indiana Drive residence, and initially told officers the stabbing happened there.

An investigation determined Thompson's car had blood inside and had a slashed tire.

Ahearn faces a charge of Aggravated Domestic Battery and had a bond set Wednesday at $15,000.

Thompson's bond was set at $1,500. He also faces an unrelated charge of Production of Cannabis, because officers say as they were securing his home, they discovered several cannabis plants inside.

Thompson was treated and released from the hospital. Ahearn was scratched and bruised, but did not require a hospital stay.
