Finally! A Good Soaking Rain in the Area
For once, the forecasters were right. We were predicted to get rain on Sunday, and boy did it ever.

The National Weather Service says most areas across this part of the state got the rain they were hoping for and then some Sunday, with several inches of rain being the norm.

Storm totals put together by the Weather Service indicate that by 8pm Sunday, weather spotters reported 1.85 inches of rain in Wataga here in Knox County, 2.25 inches of rain in Toulon in Stark County, almost two inches of rain in Abingdon.

Here in Galesburg, weather spotters report just over two inches of rain.

One of the biggest rainfall totals came in from Fulton County, which had 2 1/2inches of rain by 10 o'clock Monday night.

But even that wasn't the largest amount. Areas of the Quad Cities got upwards of three-and-a-quarter inches of rain Sunday. The official Quad City Airport total, though, was one-and-two-thirds inches.

It was all thanks to a slow-moving area of low pressure.

Some power outages were reported with the storms Sunday, but there are no reported problems now.
