Warren County Accident Injures Two, Three Arrested
A single-vehicle accident Tuesday morning north of Monmouth is resulting in preliminary charges against three people.

The Warren County Sheriff's Department was notified about the crash at the intersection of U-S Route 67 and 245th Avenue around 6:45 a-m Tuesday. Authorities say the driver was not at the scene when they arrived, but 18-year old Corey Helms of Little York was located later at a residence in Gerlaw. Police say he was injured in the accident, but refused treatment, and was arrested for consumption of alcohol by a minor and leaving the scene of an accident.

A passenger in the vehicle, 19-year old Cameron Wooley of North Vernon, Indiana was also located in Gerlaw. Officials say he initially declined medical treatment, but was later admitted to OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth for an unspecified injury he sustained in the crash.

Deputies say two Gerlaw residents, 23-year old Ryan Franks and 34-year Jennifer Nice, were arrested for obstruction of justice.

It's not clear how the mishap occurred. Officials say the investigation continues and more charges may be pending.
