12-Year Old Arrested on Drug Charges
A Churchill Junior High student was arrested on drug charges Tuesday for allegedly trying to distribute cannabis on school property.

Galesburg Police reports say the 12-year boy old attempted to sell the drug to other classmates, who then told a teacher. The report says the student was called to the principal's office and emptied his pockets for school administrators, and multiple bags of a green leafy substance and a lighter were among the items the boy had on him.

Police say they took possession of the three wrapped bags containing the suspected drug, and arrested the boy. He was taken to the Mary Davis Home.

Authorities say the substance in question field tested positive for cannabis, and the boy is facing preliminary charges of delivery of cannabis on school property, and cannabis possession.
