Iowa Man Killed in Henderson County Motorcycle Crash
The Labor Day holiday weekend turned fatal for a man driving a motorcycle on a Henderson County road late Sunday morning that injured a passenger on the bike.

State police identified the man who was killed as 52-year old Christopher Coates of Corydon, Iowa. A passenger on his motorcycle, 49-year old Malinda Mathews, also of Corydon, Iowa, was seriously injured and taken to University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Troopers say the crash happened around 11:45 a-m Sunday on Henderson County road 1350 East, known as the Keithsburg Blacktop, at Henderson County road 2400 North near Oquawka. Officials say Coates was southbound on the blacktop
when a pickup truck driven by 85-year old Cleo Bowman of Galesburg turned left in front of Coates, who's motorcycle slid into the pickup truck.

Bowman wasn't hurt. Police cited him for improper left turn.
