Delivery Service Adds Galesburg Location
A Minnesota-based delivery service that's opened up a location in Galesburg is quick to praise economic development officials for convincing them to come here.

"Spee-Dee Delivery Services" has opened a facility in Galesburg on Log City Trail. In a news release sent to WGIL by the Galesburg Regional Economic Development Association, "Spee-Dee" president Don Weeres says he's appreciative to GREDA for all the help, and that, "We are appreciative of GREDA's contribution to our expansion and growth."

GREDA says it's been working since last October to fund Spee-Dee a suitable building, and did so in what is the former Southards Tree building.

While local and company officials are just making the business opening announcement now, the location has been open since June, and currently employs eight people with plans to add at least two more.

"Spee-Dee Delivery Services" has been in operation for 30-years, and has 1,400 employees in seven states.
