Website Available for Soldiers to Request Absentee Ballots
Service men and women serving overseas can register to vote and request an absentee ballots online.

Active duty soldiers outside the United States planning to vote in the November election have until October 25th to make that request.

Illinois Lt. Governor Pat Quinn says ballots have to be returned by mail and postmarked by November 3rd. Quinn says there's a web site available where military personnel can get all that done.

"It's set up deliberately to allow our men and women to have the quickest way possible, the most expedient way possible, to be able to vote on November 4th."

The web site address is www.fvap.gov.

Quinn says more Illinois National Guard troops are heading overseas, and the new web site insures they have an opportunity to vote for the next President.

Quinn is encouraging the families of military men and women serving abroad to tell them about the program.
