Quinn to Get Flu Shot
CHICAGO (AP) -- Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn plans to roll up his sleeve for a seasonal flu shot to promote prevention efforts in the state.

Quinn plans to get his flu shot Tuesday in Chicago from the state's official top doctor, Illinois public health director Damon Arnold.

Health officials say vaccination is the single best way to protect against catching the virus that causes regular winter influenza.

Preventing swine flu will require a separate vaccine, expected to be available in October. That vaccine may require two shots, spaced about three weeks apart.

The federal government has begun studies to test the swine flu shot's effectiveness and figure out the best dose. Vaccine makers are doing their own tests as well.
