Galesburg Man Arrested During Attempted Kiwanis Park Drug Deal
An investigation by a number of local law enforcement agencies has resulted in the arrest of a Galesburg man on felony drug charges.

Officials from the Multi-County Narcotics Enforcement Group says officers were waiting in the area of Kiwanis Park for an alleged drug deal to be made around 4:45 Thursday afternoon.

They say 36-year old Marcell Jordan was arrested when he entered the park, and also allegedly had five-and-a-half grams of crack cocaine on him, along with 17 alleged pills of the so-called date-rape drug Ecstasy -- all valued over $1,000.

He also allegedly got into a scuffle when being arrested.

Jordan faces preliminary charges of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, another possession charge, Aggravated Battery on a Police Officer, and Resisting Arrest.

Jordan is being held in the Knox County Jail. It's not clear if he's made an initial court appearance or not.
