Area Soldier Returns Home Friday Night
A soldier who has been in Afghanistan since January of this year is returning home to the area Friday.

Family members say Specialist Christopher Potts is coming home for his two weeks of rest and relaxation before he finishes his tour in February.

The family says Potts was supposed to arrive in Peoria Thursday but was held up in Kuwait several days ago.

He is scheduled to arrive in Peoria Friday night around 530 which should put him back in the Galesburg area around seven.

Christy Potts says her son will be meeting up with the Patriot Guard Riders in Knoxville before traveling from the East Main Street exit on 74, down Main Street to Henderson Street and heading north to get on 34 to go home to Oneida.

The family says the Galesburg Fire Department and the Galesburg Police will also be responding.

Potts' mother says her son looks forward to relaxing with his dog and enjoying some home cooked meals upon his return.
