Monmouth College Grad to Discuss H1N1 Virus at Alma Mater
Derek Anderson, a practicing physician in Keota, Iowa, and a 1999 graduate of Monmouth College, will return to his alma mater September 21st to give a lecture at 7 p.m. in the Whiteman-McMillan Highlander Room of the Stockdale Center.

Titled "The Cough Heard Round the World: The History and Current State of the H1N1 Influenza Pandemic," Anderson's talk is free and open to the public. It is being sponsored by the History Club and by Beta Beta Beta and Phi Alpha Theta, the honorary societies for biology and history, respectively.

Anderson has strong ties to the college, as he is married to 2001 MC graduate Sara Bliss. His parents, Gary and LaDonna Richardson Anderson graduated in 1970 and 1971, respectively, and his sister, Melissa Anderson Clark, graduated in 1996.
