Illinois Sees New Swine Flu Deaths After a Lull
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Health officials say three people have died from swine flu in recent weeks, including the first fatality in central Illinois.

A Christian County man in his 60s died earlier this month after being hospitalized with swine flu. County health administrator Gerry Grigsby says the man had other health problems.

Officials say a lull in severe swine flu cases during the summer is ending. The state's weekly update shows 13 new swine flu-related hospitalizations and two new deaths. The fatalities in Chicago and Winnebago County bring the state's total deaths from the illness to 19 since April.

Illinois Department of Public Health spokeswoman Melaney Arnold says more than half the state is reporting an increase in flulike illness.
