Abingdon Man Pleads In Misdemeanor Case
An Abingdon man who has been linked to a home in Monmouth where authorities found several dead animals as well as animal feces and fleas has made his plea in Knox County Court.

31-year old Michael Geier pleaded not guilty in front of Knox County Judge Scott Shipplett Friday morning.

Geier is facing misdemeanor charges that include cruelty to animals, domestic battery, and multiple counts of endangering the life or health of a child.

Geier allegedly struck his wife, 28-year old Rebecca Geier, and fled before authorities were able to arrest him back in July. While investigating the incident, officials say the residence at 606 West Monmouth had dead cats, dogs, and other animals inside of the home. Several animals were taken from the home and euthanized because of their condition.

Geier also demanded a jury trial yesterday morning in Knox County Court.

He will next be in front of a judge October 5th for a Pre-Trial Conference and the jury trial date will be set.
