Chrysler Looking For Workers
BELVIDERE, Ill. (AP) -- Chrysler Group LLC is looking for temporary workers to help fill the second shift at its assembly plant in Belvidere.

Chrysler spokesman Max Gates says advertising for the positions will begin this weekend.

Chrysler said Wednesday it would boost production of the Dodge Caliber at the Belvidere plant in response to higher demand for the compact car.

The Caliber was a popular seller under the government's Cash for Clunkers program.

The second shift is set to return to Belvidere on Oct. 5 to build another 10,000 Calibers through the end of the year. The move puts another 850 employees back to work at the plant

Chrysler will bring back all active workers who were laid off this summer, excluding those who took a buyout.
