Construction Web Site Monitors Project Status'
The Illinois Department of Transportation has launched a new web site aimed at offering more transparency within the state agency.

An official for IDOT says the public can log onto the site at their convenience, 24-hours a day, seven days a week and get information on a number of projects in their area statewide.

IDOT spokeswoman Paris Ervin says the new site, Construction Zone Dashboard gives the up-to-date information on active construction projects.

"You know with the stimulus bill, the Governors Jump-Start Program and the Capital Bill, Illinois' construction season is booming and we're happy to share it with the public with what we are doing out there.

Users to the site can search for contracts by location, IDOT district or contractor.

The site also provides information on the status of the project, how far along the work is and provides an estimate of when the work will be completed.
