Labor Day Parade Draws Hundreds
Windy conditions and the threat of rain didn't stop hundreds of Galesburg residents to come out for the Labor Day parade.

Main Street was filled with people celebrating the holiday dedicated to laborers across the country.

Grand Marshal of the parade, Jim Mundy, tells WGIL he knows a thing or two about hard work.

"I'm retired from Gates Rubber Company with 40 years of service," Mundy said. "I worked for the union on Labor Day parades, probably, since '65, '66. I've been around the Labor Temple as a delegate and held different offices."

Mundy says he thought someone more deserving should be grand marshal, but he was honored by the request.

Mundy adds next year, he will once again be helping with the parade where he can.
