Galesburg's LaserMark Closing Its Doors
FIRST REPORTED 3:00pm 9/7/10 A Galesburg business that's an arm of an organization that works with those who have disabilities is shutting down in about a week and a half.

An announcement on the website for LaserMark confirms what an e-mail obtained by WGIL earlier indicated -- that the business will be shutting down as of September 17th.

LaserMark is a subsidiary of the Knox County Council for Developmental Disabilities, and does things like embroidery and screen printing along with vinyl signs and trophies.

The LaserMark website indicates they are trying to finish work that's already been committed to, and they won't be taking any new orders.

They also say that retail goods at their store on North Henderson Street are currently selling for 70%, and high school letter jackets are going for 15% off.

Attempts Tuesday morning to contact LaserMark were unsuccessful, and messages left with KCCDD have not been returned.

LaserMark has been in business since 2006, but it's not clear how many people they employ.

KCCDD also operates Phoenix Industries, which does various components of manufacturing and other work.
