Accused Shooter Pleads Guilty, Sentenced to Jail Time
POSTED 2:57pm 9/9/10 "You caught a break, though your victim did not." Those are the words of Knox County Circuit Court Judge Stephen Mathers to a young woman just after sentencing.

27-year old Katonnia Kelley appeared in court Thursday and pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter of an unborn child, therefore waiving her rights to any type of trial.

Kelley was charged with the crime after shooting 21-year old Chariot Campbell in the chest in April this year.

The injuries eventually lead to the death of Campbell's unborn baby.

Kelley was sentenced to 30 months of probation after serving 180 days in the Knox County Jail.

Kelley has already served 153 days in jail, which will be counted toward the sentence, so she will only serve another three weeks.

The court hearing was continued from last week, to allow the victim to be present. Campbell, however, decided she did not want to be present and did not attend the hearing.
