Former Cabinet Official and Governor Visits Knox College
The academic year is officially underway at Knox College.

President Roger Taylor kicked things off during the convocation Friday morning in front of a packed auditorium of students.

The convocation address was given this year by former Secretary of Health and Human Services and four term Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson.

Thompson gave advice to the students about reaching for their dreams, and letting nothing get in the way of achieving them.

"While you're doing this life's journey you're going to stumble, because you're human," Thompson said. "Every single one of you are going to make mistakes. But that doesn't mean you can't pick yourself up, and build upon that mistake and be a better person tomorrow, than you were today."

Thompson also shared his experiences as governor of Wisconsin and how he responded to the 9/11 attacks.

He says that included sending tons of medical supplies to New York by the evening of that same day.
