Art in Park Big Draw Over Weekend
If you can imagine it, chances are there was an artist at an annual event in downtown Galesburg Saturday who could make it.

The Galesburg Civic Art Center hosted its 24th annual "Art in the Park," and features works in different media.

One of those artisits is Joshua Dixon. The Galesburg resident tells WGIL he's part of what the center thinks are new, emerging artists, and he'll take the compliment.

"The very first year I did this, they said, 'Oh, it's a breath of fresh air,' and I think our generation of artists I think are going to have this feel of art, rather than what everyone in Galesburg has been used to I guess."

Dixon deals primarily with watercolors and screen printing. He says he has one major goal relating to one of the things he works with now: screen printing on a larger scale in a type akin to Andy Warhol.
