AP Interview: Cohen Admits He Doesn't Have Answers
CHICAGO (AP) -- An independent candidate for Illinois governor doesn't just admit that he can't spell out how he would solve the state's problems. He embraces it.

Scott Lee Cohen says it proves he's leveling with voters instead of making the empty promises that other candidates offer.

But Cohen refuses to answer most questions about allegations that forced him off the Democratic ticket as the lieutenant governor nominee in February. He was accused of holding a knife to his girlfriend's throat, threatening his wife, using steroids and failing to pay child support.

Cohen denies threatening anyone, and he says none of the allegations have any bearing on his ability to implement sound financial and social policies. He says he can't do worse than the "career politicians" now in charge.
