ROWVA Students Unite to Grieve Again
Students at ROWVA High School are once again having to do something that, unfortunately, they're all too familiar with: cope with the loss of a student.

ROWVA principal Joe Peters says students spent Tuesday consoling each other, and talking with counselors provided by other school districts, along with the local ministerial association, upon hearing that 17 year old Kevin Moore died early Tuesday following a truck crash east of Oneida the night before.

Peters tells WGIL the class of 2011 supported each other the only way they knew how.

"A lot of his classmates have spent a lot of time in the [Learning Media Center] and they've been sharing stories and antidotes about Kevin, so the overall mood is very somber."

Peters says both he and the students remember Moore as a prankster, but always willing to help clean up whatever prank he pulled. Peters says Moore, however, never went too far, and knew when playing a practical joke might not be the right thing to do. He says Moore will be dearly missed.

A candlelight vigil is being held in Oneida Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. Students are also signing a banner at school for Moore, and there's a link on the ROWVA school district webpage for anyone who wants to sign an online condolence book. You can find that link by CLICKING HERE.
