Galesburg Man Arrested on Felony Sex Charges
A Galesburg man faces several felony charges after allegedly having sex with a minor, despite the fact he told authorities he's a registered sex offender.

Galesburg police records indicate officers arrested 20 year old Nicholas Grady Tuesday on a Knox County Warrant charging him with two counts each of Sexual Exploitation of a Child, and Criminal Sexual Abuse.

Grady, police reports claim, had sexual contact with a then 16 year old Little York girl at least three times in June of this year.

Police reports claim the contact happened at Grady's home on West Main Street, while his father was out of the house.

The victim's mother told police that Grady claimed through a text message that the sex was consensual, while the victim told police she didn't say no, but that she didn't want to wait until she was 17.

Grady told police when they arrested him that the victim wanted the sexual contact, but that he refused because of his status as a registered sex offender.

The state's sex offender registry lists Grady as a sexual predator, convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in Knox County for allegedly abusing a three-year-old child.

He's in the Knox County Jail on $100,000 dollars bond pending future court appearances.
