More Rebates for Energy-Efficient Appliances
CHICAGO (AP) -- Illinois shoppers are getting one more chance to take advantage of a rebate program for energy-efficient appliances.

Gov. Pat Quinn will encourage residents to take advantage of the program during an appearance Sunday at a Chicago home improvement store.

Under the program, shoppers can get a 15 percent instant rebate Friday when they buy Energy Star appliances, including dishwashers and refrigerators.

The rebates will be offered from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., or until funds run out.

Similar rebates were offered last winter and this spring.

The program is sponsored by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
