Enrollment Still Up at CSC
The president of Carl Sandburg College says things are, at the very least looking just as good as they have been by one measure.

New president Doctor Lori Sundberg says enrollment is about the same as last year with the fall semester now underway, and that's even higher than the college projected.

Sundberg tells WGIL she's happy that enrollment is good, but it's also indicative of the times the area is currently in.

"With the economy the way it is, the type of student we have has changed a little bit this year. We have more traditional students than in past years and parents and students are looking at a four year college degree, they're finding that it's very expensive and it's just smart to come to the community college for the first two years."

Sundberg says one problem still remains at CSC, that's the state budget. She says Sandburg is still owed a million dollars from the state, and just when that money might come in is still up in the air.
