Voters Utilizing the Internet
The Illinois State Board of Elections hopes more people will find out about an easier way for members of the military and other overseas voters to request an absentee ballot. They can just click to make that request.

About a month ago, the elections agency added a page to its website for the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment, or MOVE, Act requirement. Illinois was one of the first states to comply with this new federal law, which requires electronic requests.

Executive director Dan White says he has received about 300 requests, but expects that number to hit several thousand as more people learn about the option. Voters will have to apply with a step by step "wizard," and the voter can return to the site later to check to see if his or her ballot was counted, and if not, why. The website is at
https://move.elections.il.gov/.
