Quinn Talks Jobs and Brady
Following up on his Republican opponent's statewide tour to talk about jobs, Governor Pat Quinn spent Tuesday talking about the topic himself.

With labor leaders at the announcement of a local road project in Springfield, the incumbent Democrat says while State Senator Bill Brady has the endorsement of business groups, Quinn has the support of the people who have earned next Monday off: the working men and women.

Quinn owned up to supporting a 1 percentage point increase in the income tax, accusing Brady of withholding details of his plans. He also said Brady favors a "natural" increase in property taxes.

Quinn has developed a habit of saying Brady has never created a job. How can that be, seeing as how Brady's family owns a number of businesses which, presumably, meet a payroll? "I was at the Illinois Education Association; he said he's laid off 25 people this year from there, from the past year from their employment."
