District 238 Building Up for Sale
The two schools closed due to severe budget cuts in the Monmouth-Roseville School District are now up for sale.

The District 238 Board held a special meeting Tuesday night, where members approved resolutions putting Willits Primary School in Monmouth, and Roseville Elementary School up for sale via sealed bid.

District superintendent Paul Woehlke tells WGIL be ready to open up your wallet if you want any of the properties.

"The board did accept a minimum acceptable bid price for the Willits Property in Monmouth that is $200,000. And for the Roseville, the main property $180,000 and the extra parcel $27,500."

Woehlke is referring to a playground and grass area across from Roseville Elementary that the district also owns. He says bidders can bid on both of those properties separately or together.

Bids, Woehlke says, will likely be due by 2 p.m. on November 4th for opening at a special meeting that night.

District 238 also is exploring the possibility of working with the Warren County board to house the Warren-Henderson-Mercer Regional Office of Education at Willits Primary School and move the district office there also, but Woehlke says nothing is definite.
