Giannoulias, Kirk Spar Over Small Businesses
CHICAGO (AP) Illinois' U.S. Senate candidates are sparring over a small business lending bill that the Democrat-controlled Congress has sent to President Barack Obama to be signed.

Democrat Alexi Giannoulias on Friday criticized Republican Mark Kirk for his vote against the bill, which creates a $30 billion federal fund to help small businesses get loans. The measure was touted as part of the Democrats' jobs agenda, and the vote was split along party lines.

Kirk criticized the bill Thursday as ``another government bailout program.'' He also said it had some provisions that were detrimental to businesses.

Giannoulias says Kirk talks about wanting to help small businesses in Illinois but then doesn't vote that way in Washington.
