Enrollment Numbers Up at CSC
Carl Sandburg College enrollment numbers are up.

Julie Gibb is the Interim Vice President for Academic Services. Gibb informed the board of trustees at Thursday night's meeting that more students are attending Carl Sandburg.

"In terms of head count, on this campus, we're up 23 students, so that's good. We are also overall up 53 new applicants from the first day of this year compared to the first day a year ago. We are down in head count at Carthage and Bushnell and that speaks to the duel credit situation, at least in part."

Duel credit numbers are down 20 percent because parents cannot afford to pay for high school students to take the courses, and because the students are still in high school, they do not qualify for student aid.

CSC is looking into cutting the cost of duel credit courses in half for the spring semester.
