Ex-Prosecutor's Wife Sentenced for Arson, Theft
OTTAWA, Ill. (AP) -- The wife of a former LaSalle County state's attorney has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for residential arson and stealing from a church.

Terri James of Ottawa pleaded guilty last month to charges she set fire to a two-story Ottawa house in March. No one was home at the time, but the building sustained substantial damage.

She was also accused of attempting to set fire to a commercial building.

The 42-year-old James was a financial officer for First Congressional United Church of Christ in Ottawa. She admitted stealing more than $100,000 of the church's funds over nearly six years.

In handing down the prison sentence, Judge H. Chris Ryan on Friday ordered James to repay more than $137,000.

James is married to Mike James, who served as LaSalle County state's attorney from 1996 to 2000.
