Accused Murder Wants Different Trial
A Galesburg woman, 27 year old Katonnia Kelley, appeared in court Thursday for a plea hearing.

Kelley is accused of the April shooting of a woman that lead to the death of her unborn child.

Thursday Kelley pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated battery with a firearm, one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm, and one count of involuntary manslaughter of an unborn child.

Kelly, along with her attorney Karl Johnson, however, decided to waive her right to a jury trial.

She had originally requested a jury trial during a May court hearing. Now Kelley will face a bench trial.

Today's hearing was continued to next week, to allow the victim, 21 year old Chariot Campbell, to be present.
