Nurse Eyes Costello's Congressional Seat
O'FALLON, Ill. (AP) -- A nurse who sought to unseat southwestern Illinois Congressman Jerry Costello last year says she'll try again.

Theresa Kormos of O'Fallon tells the Belleville News-Democrat that she will seek the Republican nomination to run for the 12th Congressional District seat Costello has held since 1988.

Kormos says she plans to formally announce her candidacy Sept. 21 at O'Fallon City Hall.

She sought the GOP nomination in the 2010 primary but was narrowly defeated by Teri Newman of Highland. Costello then beat Newman in the general election.

Kormos has a master's degree in nursing and says she has more than three decades of experience in health care.
