Illinois Gov. Quinn Set To Head To China
CHICAGO (AP) -- Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn is heading to China on a trade mission.

The Chicago Democrat leaves Friday, and he'll lead a delegation of about 30 people on the eight-day trip. It will be Quinn's first visit to China.

The governor's office says Quinn will be joined by executives from some of Illinois' largest companies, including United and Archer Daniels Midland, along with representatives from universities in the state.

Quinn spokeswoman Annie Thompson says the trip will cost the state about $133,000. She says Quinn is paying for his own airfare.

While in China, Quinn's office says he'll sign export contracts, including agriculture. China is a major export destination for Illinois.

Quinn will also be looking for more Chinese investment in Illinois businesses.
