Judge Orders Rep. Walsh To Explain Child Support
CHICAGO (AP) -- A Cook County judge wants Republican Rep. Joe Walsh to explain why he seems to be $100,000 behind in child-support payments.

The Chicago Sun-Times says the judge also questioned why Walsh wasn't in court Wednesday for a hearing when his ex-wife was there. When Walsh's attorney told the judge it was because Walsh is a congressman, Judge Raul Vega shot back that Walsh is ``no different than anyone else.'' Walsh is a Tea Party member who has gained national attention for lambasting President Barack Obama.

Walsh's ex-wife is fighting for back child support she says the congressman owes since she filed for divorce in 2002.

The newspaper reports attorneys for both sides say the burden will be on the congressman to prove he doesn't owe the money.
