Golf Course Plane Crash Kills 2 Purdue Students
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (AP) -- The two people killed when a small plane crashed into a suburban Indianapolis golf course were both mechanical engineering students at Purdue University.

A Purdue spokeswoman says the privately owned plane flown by 21-year-old Joshua Deboer of Chicago Heights, Ill., took off from the university's airport near West Lafayette about a half hour before it crashed late Thursday afternoon.

The crash also killed passenger 21-year-old Joseph Neuzerling of Noblesville.

Witnesses say the plane was flying normally just before it suddenly spiraled into the ground at Harbour Trees Golf Club in Noblesville. No injuries were reported on the ground.

Purdue spokeswoman Jeanne Norberg says the deaths are a tragic loss and that both students had bright futures.
