Organically Made Food Just Tastes Better
A vision for a locally grown and organic restaurant is in full form after the grand opening Wednesday.

"En Season", located at Galesburg's Sustainable Business Center, will continue to serve customers a healthier lunch option from 11 to 2 every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Getchen Garth is President of the Human Links Foundation. She tells WGIL En Season's lunch menu is a better nutritional choice.

"Local food is so important for so many reasons, not just that it tastes better but it is better for you," she says. "We've depleted nutrients throughout our food system so we are trying to work with local farmers to grow pesticide free food, hormone free, antibiotic free food, free range in all of our products."

Kitchen Coordinator Peggy Wilke says En Season will try to stay within a 50 mile radius of Galesburg when browsing the farmlands for their selections.

She says the restaurant is currently canning their storage shelves to have enough locally produced food for the winter.
