IL Home Seller Offers $1,000 Bar Tab to Buyer
GLENVIEW, Ill. (AP) -- A Chicago-area home seller is offering a $1,000 bar tab for a neighborhood watering hole to the person who takes her place off her hands.

Melanie Gravdal tells the Chicago Sun-Times that she was trying to come up with a way to set her Glenview townhouse apart from others on the market.

That's when she joked that the buyer could walk home from a night at Grandpa's Place bar across the street, and she hit upon the idea of offering cash to be used there.

She says she's seen an uptick in interest in her townhouse since she started the incentive. But she doesn't know if the two are related.

Grandpa's Place has been around for 113 years.
