Knoxville Passes Adult Uses Resolution
Another hurdle was jumped by the Knoxville City Council in allowing adult uses businesses into the city.

Attorney Robert McCoy told council members Monday night the resolution passed by the council will be circulated to the Planning and Zoning Commission Board of Appeals.

"This adult uses is a zoning code amendment, so this resolution what it does is ask the planning commission to consider this change in the zoning code and make a recommendation both back to the city council and zoning board of appeals."

Mayor Pro-Tem Bernadine Fleischer says the zoning amendment comes before the city council as a recommendation from McCoy, and the city must make sure specific parameters are met.

"We were told there has to be a minimum of 1,000 feet from any school, any business, any residence, any church, so this should encompass anywhere in the city."

Fleischer intends for the ordinance to be up for approval before the council by October 3rd's meeting.
