Walsh To Run In New 14th Congressional District
CHICAGO (AP) -- Outspoken tea party Rep. Joe Walsh's decision about where to run for re-election will cost Illinois one Republican in Congress.

Walsh says he's running in the newly drawn 14th congressional district in suburban areas north and west of Chicago. That will force a primary battle with fellow conservative Republican Randy Hultgren if Illinois' new congressional map survives a court challenge.

Walsh made the announcement Wednesday in an e-mail to supporters. Walsh has gained national attention for his criticism of President Barack Obama, but he's also gotten publicity for the legal battle over child support with his ex-wife.

Some of the state's top Republicans have challenged the Democrat-drawn map that attempts to erase Republican gains in Congress by lumping Republican lawmakers together in districts. That's the case with Walsh and Hultgren.
