Knoxville Laying Pipe For New Track
The Knoxville High School track project is currently in the phase of pipe installation for water drainage.

"The big project iwas to get that finished so that we can finish the site work to lay the actual asphalt for the track surface," he says. 'That's scheduled to begin early next week at the latest, hopefully at the latest, weather permitting, so by this time next week we may have some asphalt on the track. I wouldn't want to run on that quite yet, but it's a long way towards the process of getting a track that we can start to use."

That's District 202 Superintendent Steve Wilder. He tells WGIL he's hopeful a bid for the actual track surface and lighting at the site will come in by the end of September.

Wilder says October 31st is the deadline for having the track project completely done.

He says there is heavy pressure to quickly wrap up the site work and bring things together physically for people to see progress.
