New Stop on Knox County Scenic Drive
Fall weather has for the most part overtaken the area, which means it must be time for what could be considered the annual kickoff to the season.

The annual Knox County Scenic Drive is this weekend and next, and Jerry Wood with the Galesburg-Area Convention and Visitors Bureau says there will be plenty of activities at all eight stops on the drive this weekend, which includes this weekend only, the annual Galesburg Scarecrow Festival in Standish Park.

Wood tells WGIL if the number of stops sounds higher than you remember, it's because there is one new stop this year.

"Hawthorne Center...the impetus is going to be at the craft and antique mall," Wood said. "Those two buildings, as you know, it used to be a male Army hospital. One of the buildings is where they housed the soldiers' uniforms and everything. The other one is where they offloaded the wounded soldiers to the hospital. Cedar Creek is going to be opened up, and some of the other places within Hawthorne Center. There's going to be Pizza House...there's going to be flea markets."

That's in addition to the more traditional stops like Knoxville, which will have more flea markets, yard sales, and other activities. Other stops, as always, include the Wolf Covered Bridge, Walnut Grove Farm, and more.
