Labor Day Just A Fun Day For Everyone
The nation's second longest tenured Labor Day Parade, behind only New York City, treaded down Main Street in Galesburg Morning morning.

President of the Galesburg Trades and Labor Assembly Randy Bryan was directing the procession on the corner of Chambers and Main. He tells WGIL it's fun for everyone involved.

"It's seems to get bigger every year, even though it's been going on 120 years," Bryan says. "The last ten you can see every year it gets better, last year was the largest as far of entries that we had, this year it's exactly the same amount. But then this year we get a lot of people that come that didn't sign up, I think we surpassed it."

Bryan says a total of 69 entries made up this years celebration. As far as the much cooler temperatures...

"Beautiful, actually, because usually we're sweating down here, so this is perfect."

Spectators sprayed along the side of Main Street seemed to handle the weather differently. Some wore winter hats and gloves, others tank tops and sandals.

Safe to say, they were all there for the same reason.
