3 Charged In Fatal Decatur Shooting
DECATUR, Ill. (AP) -- Authorities in central Illinois have charged three people, including a 15-year-old boy, with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old Decatur man.

The (Decatur) Herald & Review reports that court documents indicate Billy Rutherford was killed because the suspects thought he was stealing drug money and had threatened the teen's life.

Rutherford was pronounced dead at the scene on Aug. 29 after Decatur police officers found his body lying in an alley.

Prosecutors in Macon County formally charged 15-year-old Shitavious Cook as an adult Thursday. Also charged are 28-year-old Felton Estes and 35-year-old Demeco Hill. Cook is being held at a juvenile detention center, while the men are in the Macon County Jail.

It isn't immediately clear if the defendants have attorneys.
