Amott Opens Knox College's 175th Year
The 19th president in Knox College history used the opening convocation as a platform to recognize everyone in the Knox community.

"Every one of you is a teacher and a learner in this community dedicated for 175 years to life long learning. Every one of you has the opportunity and the responsibility to contribute to the Knox story by your gifts of time, of talent, and of treasure, you make possible the Knox of tomorrow."

President Teresa Amott unraveled a plan Thursday for her first year in office as a guideline.

She says she wants to honor alumni, deepen a commitment to Galesburg, do more in sustaining the environment, and continue investigating a plan for endowment support.

Amott told students at the convocation Knox College is a jewel of American Higher Education.

She calls the new 2015 graduating class her class because they came to Knox together.
