Final Suspect in Kiwanis Park Shooting Arrested
The person long wanted by police in connection to the fatal Kiwanis park shooting in late-June has finally been arrested.

Police records indicate 23-year old Albert Carter turned himself into authorities Thursday, and appeared in Knox County Circuit Court Friday.

Carter faces charges of first-degree murder accountability, aggravated discharge of a firearm accountability, and criminal damage to property.

Carter was appointed public defender Dan O'Brien Friday, after court records indicate that public defender Jim Harrell withdrew.

Carter and five others originally were suspected in the death of 21-year old Jemell Ware.

A 16-year old has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge as part of a plea deal, and another suspect was later released after most of the charges were dropped.

Two more still face first-degree murder accountability charges. But there is only one actual suspected triggerman: 46-year old Overton Fisher. He's scheduled to be back in November on first-degree murder charges.
