What if Attacks Happened in IL Cities?
(IRN) -- The terrorist attacks, 10 years later -- what's the effect on Illinois cities?

Jim Ardis, the mayor of Peoria, says we've "softened," losing the sense of vigilance that we had right after the attacks. But Naperville Mayor George Pradel says citizens and the city have been on their toes, calling in suspicious activities. He says there are several instances in which there was unattended luggage at the train station, and the DuPage County bomb squad had to come in and blow it up.

Ardis also worries about the effect a disaster would have on a city's finances, in this tough economy. Whether it's a terrorist attack, an accident or a natural disaster, it wouldn't have to be big to strain a city's finances.
