Heat A Part Of The Gig For Carson And Barnes
For crews working to prepare Lake Storey for the Carson and Barnes Circus, they say there isn't much you could do except brace for the heat and toughen up.

4th generation Producer and Director Julio Cavallini tells WGIL the strategy in putting up the main tent is no different from any other day of the 8 month tour.

"Normally we put up the side wall, I mean we work like this before, but I understand when it's more than 100 degrees, ya try and put some fans."

Multiple fans and a high side wall may suffice for the workers accustomed to a five hour operation, but what about the thousands expected to be in attendance.

"People, we have an intermission, they can go outside and rest before the second part."

Cavallini says the elephants, zebras, and other animals have plenty of shade and water to withstand the near triple digit temperatures during the day.

He says the animals have the freedom to move around and use what the circus calls a miniature swimming pool.
