Man Convicted In Souther Ill. Shooting Death
MARION, Ill. (AP) -- A sentencing hearing is scheduled next month for a man convicted in a shooting death in the southern Illinois town of Herrin.

WSIU Radio reports that a Williamson County jury found 22-year-old Travius Tucker of Fairview Heights guilty of first-degree murder on Monday.

Authorities say a co-defendant and another armed suspect entered Jamel Davis' apartment last November and demanded money. Officials say Davis was shot with a gun one of the suspects says was thrown into the Mississippi River near East St. Louis.

Two other defendants await trial. Tucker's sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 28.
