One School District Talks of Joining New ROE
The Abingdon school district is looking for a new Regional Office of Education to join after a new law reduced the number of R-O-E's in Illinois from 44 to 35.

Superintendent David Black told the school board they have two options-- join the Henderson-Mercer-Warren County R-O-E or Peoria's but he did express some of his concerns with Peoria.

"It's a good group but we are pretty far out and honestly feel and so do a lot of the other Superintendents, we feel that our voice would be lost if we went with Peoria, where as we feel that we have an equal voice in Henderson-Mercer-Warren."

Other board members said they felt going with Henderson-Mercer-Warren County would be the best fit for the district.

Black also said they have a relationship with Henderson-Mercer-Warren County and he says he feels the districts voice will be heard.
